The Transportation Reimbursement for Independence Program (TRIP) is an innovative and proven non-emergency, volunteer-based community transportation initiative that promotes and supports independence and quality of life for seniors who face barriers to mobility in the community.

The purpose of TRIP of San Mateo County is to promote the concept of neighbors helping neighbors and to complement public transportation services by:

• reimbursing volunteer drivers $0.52 per mile to transport individuals who face barriers to, or have difficulty accessing existing public transit and/or Redi-Wheels services.

• providing a no cost service to the rider for quality of life transportation needs.

• providing an alternative low cost transportation service to fill gaps in existing services.
