Family Service Child Development and Education

San Mateo, CA

Quality Child Care with an Emphasis on Early Learning

Family Service Agency of San Mateo County has been providing quality child care that supports working families for over 30 years. Sites are located throughout San Mateo County. Each site has a similar approach applying evidence based on the best practices and the recognition that the first five years of a child’s life are the most important in terms of learning and development.

  • A highly trained staff delivering a developmentally targeted curriculum ensures quality.
  • High staff-to-child ratios and small group size allows children to get individualized attention.
  • The staff provides each child with developmentally appropriate and individualized assessments designed to prepare them socially, emotionally, intellectually and physically for school.
  • Development of self-esteem and social skills is incorporated as part of the curriculum.
  • To promote motor development, infants and toddlers are held by staff instead of being confined in high chairs and strollers.
  • Preschool and school age children enjoy a program of daily arts and crafts, free play and making and keeping friends.
  • Parents are welcome in the classroom at any time and encouraged to attend education meetings and social opportunities that provide information, tips and techniques as well as the support of a community of like-minded parents.

Services are open to all. Subsidized tuitions are available to qualified families.
